Ms. Ernestine Wilson, 71, of Sanford entered into eternal rest on Monday,  August 19, 2024 at Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Center in Sanford, North Carolina.

Ernestine Wilson, affectionately known as “Ennie,” was born on February 9, 1953, to the late James Wilson and Dorothy Johnson. She departed this life on Monday, August 19, 2024, at  Westfield Rehabilitation & Health Center.

Ernestine was educated in the Lee County School System and the Governor’s School in Raleigh, North Carolina. She dedicated herself to her work early in life at Townsend Poultry, which is a 
testament to her hard work and commitment. But it was her love for family and cooking that truly defined her. She especially enjoyed preparing her signature dish, shrimp coleslaw, for family events.

In addition to her late parents, Ernestine was also preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Betty Wilson, six sisters and four brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two brothers, Osbie Headen, of Asheboro, NC, and Jimmy Wilson (Tracy) of Sanford, NC; three sisters, Barbara McLean, and Betty Byrd (Gerald) both of
Sanford, and Dorothy Johnson of Goldston, NC; her Godchildren, Kiante Rice, Zorian Wilson and Christian Wilson; a special friend, Mr. Harold Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family
members and friends.
