Ms. Ernestine Harris, 81, of Carthage, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehab Center of Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Ernestine Harris, daughter of the late Rufus Harris and Lola McIntosh, was born on January 3, 1942, in Scotland County, North Carolina. She departed this life on July 2, 2023, at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Ernestine grew up in Laurinburg, North Carolina. She attended and graduated from Scotland County Schools. Ernestine later worked as a bus monitor for the school system.

Ernestine enjoyed going to the beach, singing (she loved to rap), dancing, joking around, planting flowers, and spending time with her family. Her favorite color was lavender.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Harris and Lola McIntosh; her siblings, Ruth Mae Newton (Bill), Nezzie McNeill (Jessie), Lola Miles (John) Ora Monroe (Samuel), Cleven Harris, Charlie Harris (Mamie) and Hattie Pearl Isley (Earl).

Ernestine is survived by her children, Sheila Harris, Charles Harris (Blondelle), Clarissa Harris, Earl Harris, Alfred Harris, and Curtis Harris; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; three sisters, Della Monroe, Doris Ferguson (Willie), and Roseanne Pegues; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Ernestine was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother who greatly loved her family
