Mr. Edward Maurice Davis, Sr., 71, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Lee County in Sanford, North Carolina.

Mr. Edward Maurice Davis, Sr., 71, of Sanford, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Lee County.

“Ed,” as he was known to family and friends, was born on March 7, 1954, and he remained a lifelong resident of Lee County. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for  his warm smile and generous spirit.

Ed had a profound love for working on cars, a passion he pursued throughout his life. Professionally, he held a variety of jobs, but his longest and most significant employment was with Magneti- Marelli Manufacturing, where he dedicated over 30 years of service. During his tenure, Ed cultivated many lasting friendships, earning the respect of his colleagues through his unwavering  integrity, dependability, kindness, wisdom, and good humor. His amiable nature left a lasting impression, and even during his final months, he was still visited by former co-workers, a testament to  the bonds he forged.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Robert Davis; his mother, Lorena McIver Davis; his brother, Bobby Davis; and his daughter, Dominique McKeithen.

He is survived by his loving partner, Priscilla Burton of Cameron, North Carolina; his brother, Joe Nelson Davis (Catherine) of Capital Heights, Maryland; his children, Tracy Tucker-Stokes (David)  of Springfield, Massachusetts, Tomeka Overton (James) of Houston, Texas, and Edward Maurice Davis, Jr. of Sanford, North Carolina; he also leaves behind a bonus son, Rishawn Seymore  (Antoinette) of Sanford. Edward also shared a very special bond with his niece, Carolyn Greene of Apex, North Carolina, affectionately calling her “Stink.” Carolyn was a faithful visitor to her  “Uncle Ed” throughout his illness. He also leaves to mourn his loss, seven cherished grandchildren, and a host of other beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
