Delois (Harrington) Redwine

Ms. Delois Redwine, 73, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Sanford, North Carolina.

A Time to Be Born......
On December 23, 1948, in Sanford, NC, the late Lucille Harrington Buie was blessed with a daughter, Delois Harrington Redwine.

A Time to Reflect....
Delois received her high school education at Johnsonville High School and graduated from there in 1967. She spent several devoted years at Frontier Spinning Mills, manufacturing textile products until she retired. In 1967, she was united in holy matrimony to the late James Lee Redwine. To this union, one child was born, the late Melissia Renee Redwine. Delois sang in
the choir and loved working in the kitchen at her church. She was passionate about serving her community. She volunteered consistently at the New Life Fellowship Church Food Bank ministry and constantly reminded families to come. Delois was a very loving sister, aunt, great-grandmother, and friend who gave of herself to help anyone she could, expecting nothing in return. She was a very kind and soft-spoken soul that exemplified her love for her family and friends. Her great-grandsons, Scooter and DJ, filled her life with joy unmeasurably; they loved staying with her. She enjoyed the time she had with them, but you can rest assured that she equally enjoyed her time when they went home. In other words, they kept her on her toes, but she would not have had it any other way.

A Time to Say Goodbye....
Delois was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Redwine, daughter, Melissia Redwine, her fathers, Samuel Winston of Broadway, NC and John D. Buie of Olivia, NC, her mother, Lucille H. Buie, her sisters, Larphenia Johnson and Alvis Buie, a brother, Zander Buie, her grandparents, Fred and Rosa Harrington, her brothers-in-law, Howard Anderson III and Nelson Melvin Jr., and her god-sister, Rita Brooks Wirts. 

Delois leaves to cherish her memories her granddaughter, Daisha S. Matthews (Shanava); two great-grandchildren, Ma’Kaidyn Redwine and Dedrick Lipscomb Jr.; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany McLean and Darius Cox; three step-great grandchildren, Don’Yaha Matthews, Zyier Williams, and Kaleb McNeill; brothers, Redell Buie (Albertine) of Cameron, NC; John Buie (Marion) and Ricky Buie (Lisa) of Olivia, NC; sisters, Mary Graham (Johnnie) of Lemon Springs, NC; Carolyn Buie, of Olivia, NC; Barbara Melvin, and Janet McIver (Donald) both of Fayetteville, NC; and Angela Love, of Sanford, NC; an aunt, Margaret Speed of Cameron, NC; brothers-in-law, Leroy Redwine (Kim) of Broadway, NC; Earl Redwine (Tracy) of Sanford, NC;
sisters- in-law, Aretha Thomas (James) of Hampton Va.; and Irene Lee (Walker) of Sanford, NC; special friends and extended family Susan Berry-Dorsett (adopted granddaughter Baleigh Dorsett) of Pittsboro, NC and Minni Headen of Sanford, NC; a god-sister, Hilda Graves (Puddin) of Greensboro, NC; and a host of loving nieces, 

*The family will receive visitors at 50 Dalton Terrace, Lillington, NC.   At the family's request everyone that enters the home must be masked.*
