Mrs. Deborah Denise (McKinnon) Covington, 65, of West End, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in Pinehurst.

Deborah McKinnon Covington was born on April 12, 1958, to the late Doris McKinnon McDonald and Calvin Bouknight. God called his angel home on September 24, 2023, at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in West End, North Carolina.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Deborah Covington was preceded in death by one brother, Willie June McDonald Jr., her mother, Doris McKinnon McDonald, her stepfather, Willie June McDonald Sr., her father, Calvin Bouknight, and nephew, Conen T. Morgan.

She was a 1976 graduate of Pinecrest High School. She attended Sandhills Community College and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Deborah recently retired from Pinehurst Surgical Clinic after thirty-seven years of dedicated service. She enjoyed being a good steward of her health and was often found at the First Health Wellness Center or walking Reservoir Park. She enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and devoted many years to ensuring her family had everything they needed to thrive.
