Cleopatra (McNair) Foye Obituary

Mrs. Cleopatra (McNair) Foye, 91, of Aberdeen, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at her residence.

Cleopatra (Cleo) Foye was born on January 7, 1935, in Moore County, North Carolina, to the late Lloyd and Florence McNair. She peacefully departed this life on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by love.

Cleopatra received her formal education from the Moore County public schools. She moved soon thereafter to Beacon, New York, where she accepted Christ and became a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Wappingers Falls, New York.

Cleopatra was united in holy matrimony to the late James Curtis Dowd, Jr., and to this union two children were born: James Perry Dowd and Larry John Curtis Dowd. She possessed the values of hard work, resilience, and kindness, and dedicated over 25 years of service to International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) as an information technologist, project manager, and superintendent. During her employment at IBM, she met and married her devoted husband, Joseph Calvin Foye.

Following her retirement from IBM, Cleopatra and her husband relocated to Aberdeen, North Carolina, where her life continued to reflect her deep faith, love for family, and commitment to serving others. She joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church and served as a trustee board chairman and, for a period of time, as president of the missionaries. Cleopatra found joy in motorcycle riding, traveling in her motor home, playing card games, jigsaw puzzles, and watching tennis and golf (especially Tiger Woods) on television. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness and pride.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Cleopatra are, her husband, Joseph Calvin Foye; her sons, James Perry Dowd (Hanan) of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina, and Larry John Curtis Dowd of Raleigh, North Carolina; two stepchildren, Cynthia Foye Dunlap and Michael Calvin Foye. Cleopatra also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and extended family who will forever treasure her legacy.

She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Cleopatra Foye will be remembered for her loving spirit, her strength, and her unwavering faith. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in all who knew her.

Please keep the family and friends of Mrs. Cleopatra (McNair) Foye in your thoughts and prayers.
