Mr. Christopher Lee Core Sr., 71, of Aberdeen, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Dahlia Gardens, Aberdeen, North Carolina. 

Christopher Lee Core, Sr. was born on July 2, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Southern  Pines, NC, to the late Flora Jane and Carl C. Core, Sr. On Sunday, September 21, 2025,  Chris peacefully transitioned at Dahlia Gardens for Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Aberdeen, NC.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Claretha Horton (James) and Eldress Felicia Miller, and his grandson, Jaquille McCormick.

Chris was raised in the Addor Community of Pinebluff, NC, and attended Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, NC. He left high school to work as a trainer for harness racing.  He traveled extensively, doing what he loved, until his health began to fail.

He was affectionately known to many as “Razor Blade” for the sharp creases in his clothes and his sharp tongue. Chris confessed his sins and professed Christ as his Lord and Savior  on Friday, September 5, 2025.

Chris leaves to cherish many fond memories, his children, Veleda Horton of Laurinburg,  NC, Linnell Hart (Shakora) of Pinebluff, Christopher Core, Jr of Cameron, NC, Shemeka  Harrington (Paul) of Southern Pines, NC, Krishawna Acres of Springfield, IL, Terrence Cypress (Tiffany) of Cameron, and Crystal Cypress of Springfield; seventeen grandsons;  nineteen granddaughters; and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings,  Reverend Carl Core of the Addor Community, Robert Core of Rockford, IL, Paul Core Joyce),  John Core, Shirley McMillan (Herbert) and Velma nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
