Obituary

Ms. Charlotte (Pearson) Chesney, 70, of Sanford, North Carolina (formerly of New York), entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation.

Charlotte Pearson Chesney is the daughter of the late Edna Greenridge and Charles Pearson. She was born on November 18, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY.

Charlotte had four brothers, some of which preceded in death, one sister and a host of nieces and nephews. Charlotte so often spoke of her love for her family, and her childhood , and what it was like growing up in the projects in the eastern part of Brooklyn.

Several years ago, Charlotte walked into Prevailing Life Ministries, under the leadership of Pastors Herman & Denese Morris, and was instantly welcomed and embraced, and became a part of the family. Charlotte was a loving, caring, and quiet member. She had been, in her own words, “broken”, but what a joy to watch God, in the process of time, put her back together again.

Charlotte truly loved God and became a worshiper of His. She loved to sing, and joined the choir and worship team. Her favorite and most memorable song was, “Every Praise”. During a large portion of her 70 years here on this earth, she climbed many mountains, and endured many turbulent storms, but through it all, she learned how to trust in Jesus, knowing that God was her Savior, God was her Healer, God was her Deliverer, Yes He was! Yes He still Is!

She enjoyed church fellowships and gatherings, and holiday dinners and vacations at the beach with Lois Raines, her best friend that stood closer to her than a brother.

Charlotte  was gifted with her hands and had the skill of a caterer and decorator. Therefore, she took pride and ownership in planning and orchestrating numerous social affairs and dinner fellowships at the church.

One of Charlotte’s proudest moments and greatest accomplishments of her life was receiving her High School Diploma and her CNA Certification from CCCC.

One of the joys of her life was the birth of LuMae. She loved Shalanda and LuMae and was like a mother to them. LuMae was truly her heart.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her biological family and her church family all who loved and embraced her dearly. Her Pastors, Pastor Herman & Denese Morris, her best friend, Lois Raines , her Spiritual Mother, Margaret Murchison, and all the many ones who sacrificially cared for her and supported her in so many loving ways especially during her lengthen illness.

It’s too painful to say “good-bye” to you Charlotte, we will miss you.  We say thank you for being our family, our friend, our sister, our neighbor and for you just being Charlotte.  We will see you later.
