Brenda Louise (Williams) Johnson Obituary

Mrs. Brenda Louise (Williams) Johnson, 79, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 29, 2025, at her residence.

Mother Brenda Louise Williams Johnson transitioned peacefully on December 29, 2025, at her home. Mother Johnson was born on August 10, 1946, and was the fourth child of the late  Johnnie and Annie Williams.

Mother Brenda Johnson graduated from W. B. Wicker High School in 1964. She received further education at CCC School of Telephony and was employed by Hines Telephone Company (later  Windstream) and Alltel. She retired from this company after thirty-five years of faithful service.

Mother Brenda Johnson was married to Bobby J. Johnson, and to this union, two sons were born, Stanley E. Johnson and Brandon M. Johnson.

Mother Brenda Johnson was raised in Mt. Pisgah Lee Original Free Will Baptist Church. She left Mt. Pisgah Lee and attended St. Mark UCG, where she accepted Christ during a revival led by  her brother-in-law, Elder Terry Johnson. Mother Brenda Johnson returned to her home church, Mt. Pisgah Lee, where she had been faithfully serving the Lord and remained an active member  until her death.

Mother Brenda Johnson’s favorite scripture was Romans 12:1: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, and  perfect unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

Mother Brenda Johnson loved her church, Mt. Pisgah Lee, and served in many leadership roles. She was President of the Mothers’ Board, Church Secretary, Church Custodian, President of the  Senior Choir, and the church delegate at different conference settings.

In the Conference District Union, Mother Brenda Johnson was the treasurer. She was also a member of the Cape Fear & Southwestern Conference Choir, something she loved dearly.

Mother Brenda Johnson loved the Lord and was a hearer and doer of the Word, as evidenced by her professional work and her involvement in a variety of community and private organizations.  She was a part of Brick Capital, Democratic Women, Let’s Do It Together (where she was a Founding board member and Vice President), Community Choir, Appearance Commission in Sanford,  NC, WB Wicker Alumni Association, Lee County Democratic Precinct Officer, and a host for National Night Out for many years. She was recognized as Mother of the Year by the Lee County  Chapter of the NAACP. In February 2025, Mother Johnson was recognized as a Hometown Hero for Black History Month for her courageous leadership and Advocacy for Diversity.

Mother Brenda Johnson never took her assignments lightly. She felt God had already ordained each assignment for her life. Mother Brenda Johnson’s life has not been without struggles. From losing her husband in 1998 to being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999. Through the ordeal with cancer, Mother Brenda Johnson became a spokesperson, informing everyone about the  importance of testing for cancer.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Brenda are, two sons, Stanley E. Johnson of Sanford, NC and Brandon M. Johnson (Monique) of Charlotte, NC; three grandsons, Ahshon and Jeremiah  Ammon of Charlotte, and Braylon Johnson, aka Ganny Baby, also of Charlotte; one brother-in-law, Elder Terry Johnson, of Philadelphia, PA; one sister-in-law, Denise Johnson of Greensboro, NC;  her “Personal Driver,” Juanita Tucker of Sanford; her “Road Dogs,” Edith Cox and Betty Daniel of Sanford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Please keep the family and friends of Mrs. Brenda Louise (Williams) Johnson in your thoughts and prayers.
