Mr. Benjamin Burke, 84, of Fairhope, Alabama, (formerly of North Carolina) entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 23, 2023.

Benjamin Burke was born to the late Fairley and Lessie Burke on April 2, 1939, in Raeford, North Carolina. He transitioned on June 23, 2023.

He spent most of his adult life in Roosevelt, New York with his significant other Annie Lee, where he worked for the City of Roosevelt. Later in his life, he moved to Fairhope, Alabama where he lived until his transition.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Fairley and Lessie Burke, his brothers, Lenard Burke, Thomas (TC) Burke, Robert Burke, and Augusta Burke; his sisters, Ogletree Burke, Thelma Thomas, Ida Mae Murchison, and Willie McLaughlin; his brothers-in-law, Alvin McCain, Hubert McLaughlin, Theron Thomas Sr., and Brice Murchison; sister-in-law, Viola Burke; and his daughters, Audrey Niles and Marie Williamson.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Myrtle McCain of Washington, DC; his significant other, Annie Lee of Fairhope, AL; his children, David Ray (Tracy) of Raeford, NC, Ardell Burke of Greenport, NY, Betty (Alice) McCall (Rayvon) of Raeford, NC, Bunny McLaurin (Rodney) of Aberdeen, NC, Sheila Smith of Alabama, Nicole Burke Odom of Fairhope, AL, and Todd Burke of Alabama; and his sister-in-law, Val Jean Burke of Aberdeen, NC. He further leaves to cherish his memory nineteen grandchildren, sixteen great- grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild and a
host of other relatives and dear friends.
