Barbara West Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Ann West, 82, of Detroit, Michigan (formerly of Sanford, NC) entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
Barbara West was born January 11, 1941 to the late Johnnie and Annie Williams. Barbara graduated from W. B. Wicker High School in 1958.
Barbara married Edward Lewis West and three children were added to this union.
Barbara joined Mt. Pisgah Lee O. F. W. Baptist Church where she remained until they relocated to Detroit, Michigan. She joined Greater Solomon Baptist Church where she remained until her sudden passing.
Barbara retired from General Motors after many years of service. Barbara also worked at Starting Point Montessori School for many years. She loved children but she believed children should always remain respectful to everyone.
Barbara West (aka Honey West) loved bowling and the people she bowled with.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. Sister West had a special love for her pets, especially the one she left behind, Mr. Leo.
Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Anthony Cox (Edith) of Sanford, NC and Miles West of the home; one daughter, Natalie (Dina) West of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren, Anthony Cox, II (Keshona) of Kannapolis, NC and Juanita Cox of Sanford NC, one sister, Brenda Johnson of Sanford, NC, three great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Kamryn of Kannapolis, NC and Ja’Darrion Young of Charlotte, NC, three nephews, Stanley Johnson of Sanford, NC, Brandon Johnson (Monique) of Charlotte, NC and Shannon Lamont Donnell (Kelly) of
California and a host of family and friends.
