Ms. Barbara L. Hill, 68, of  Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth.”

Barbara Lue Hill was born on March 19, 1957, to the late James Lewis and Helen Lindsey Hill in Lee County, NC. She transitioned into eternal rest at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC, on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Barbara later moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She made it her home for several years before returning to Sanford, NC, where she was born and raised. She was known affectionately as “Aunt Lil  Sister.” She was a constant source of love, laughter, and support for her family. She will be truly missed.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Maudie “Tinker” Hunter and Barbara Lee Hill, two brothers, James “Junior” Hill and Robert Stevenson Hill, a son-in-law, Ceaser  Hooker, two brothers-in-law, David Fox and Larry McAuley, and two nephews, Michael Hill and Wendell “Lil Wendell” Hill Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Minister Melinda Michelle Hooker; two sisters, Mildred Fox and Helen McAuley; three aunts, Mary Hill and Betty Fox both of Sanford, and Ann  Hill of Newark, NJ; a granddaughter, Faith Tiesha Hill; and her great-grandson Eden Lawhorn of Sanford.
