Anthony "Pete" Hancock Obituary

Mr. Anthony Mitchell "Pete" Hancock, 68, of Southern Pines, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his residence.

Anthony Mitchell Hancock, fondly known as Pete, was born January 21, 1954, to the late Phillip Hancock, Sr. and Sarah Lee Easterling. Born and raised in Moore County,
North Carolina, Pete attended Pinecrest High School. He immediately joined the United States Army in 1972.

After returning home from serving his country, he began employment at Proctor Silex and later Pine Needles Resort. Pete also worked many years at Mid Pines Golf
Resort, where he dutifully served in many areas.

Pete enjoyed playing baseball and played the summer league as an outfielder. He also loved football and basketball; his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys
and North Carolina Tarheels.

Pete loved his family. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He liked to have fun and talk junk. No matter the situation, he always kept a positive
outlook. He met no stranger he didn’t befriend, whether through a joke or a kind word. Anytime someone needed help, Pete wouldn’t hesitate to assist.

In addition to his loving parents, Pete was preceded in death by his two sisters, Lily Mae Hancock and Frances Easterling; four brothers, Amos Hancock, Walter “Duck” Hancock, Ronald Easterling, and Michael Easterling.

Forever left to cherish his fond memories is his loving daughter, Tiffany Hancock, of Aberdeen, North Carolina; four brothers, Thomas “J.C.” Hancock, of New Jersey, Phillip Hancock, Jr. (Rhonda), of Jackson Springs, North Carolina, Theodore “Teddy” Hancock (Linda), of Cusseta, Alabama, and James Herman Hancock of Southern Pines, North Carolina; an aunt, Annie White, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, and a host of nieces who he loved dearly, including Joyce Lynn Cooper, of Orlando, Florida, who was like a little sister; nephews, who he also loved dearly; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Please keep the family and friends of Anthony Mitchell "Pete" Hancock in your thoughts and prayers.
