Mr. Anthony Jerome McMillan, 58, of Eagle Springs, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 27, 2025, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Anthony Jerome McMillan was born on October 3, 1966, in Durham, NC, to the late Ruth Elizabeth McMillan. He exchanged his earthly life for eternal life on Friday, June 27, 2025, in Pinehurst, NC, surrounded by family and friends.
As a child, he was raised by his mother and great aunt, Lee McArthur, along with his elder brother, Shelton. Anthony graduated from Southern High School in Durham, NC in 1986. “Amp,” as his family called him, was athletic, and played various sports, but he loved football the most. He was a great dancer and would entertain his family with his skills. He liked to skateboard and had a host of friends who would run around the woods at the back of their home.
Anthony followed in his mother’s footsteps by working in the VA Hospital in Durham. He also worked in the food service industry.
He relocated to Albuquerque, NM, in 1996 and secured his CDL license while there. He stayed there for sixteen years before returning to North Carolina in 2012. After returning to North Carolina, he began working as a Materials Handler and a Forklift Driver.
In August 2015, Anthony met Karen, the woman who would become his soulmate. Their relationship blossomed, and in June 2021, they were united in marriage. Together, they created a life filled with warmth and laughter and shared moments of peace. Whether at home or surrounded by loved ones, they found joy in the simplest of things, cherishing the time they spent together and the bonds they built with those they cared for.
In 2022, Anthony and Karen welcomed a dog named Gizmo into their home. Over time, Gizmo became not only a beloved pet but Anthony’s closest companion, offering him unconditional love and loyalty.
Anthony accepted Jesus Christ into his life in December 2024. Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth E. McMillan.
His memory will be cherished by those he left behind, his loving wife, Karen; three children, Faith Nesbitt “Pee Wee,” and Anthony McMillan (Deaja) both of Durham, NC and Antiniqua Lyons (Charles) of Haw River, NC; two stepsons, Damien and Corey Smith of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Anasti, Julian, Dennis, and Ameerah; one step-grandson, Damien Jr; one nephew, Adam McMillan (Allison) of Lakeland, FL; one niece, Melissa McMillan of Brooklyn, NY; one great nephew, Noah McMillan of Lakeland, FL; two aunts, Shirley Campbell and Linda Campbell, both of Fayetteville NC; three uncles, James Cameron of Alexandria, VA, Larry Williams of KS, and Samuel Williams of NC; a special childhood friend, Michael Jones of Durham; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Please keep the family and friends of Mr. Anthony Jerome McMillan in your thoughts and prayers.
