Mrs. Annie Doris (McPhatter) Siler, 94, of West End, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Mother Annie Doris Siler, known to many as “Aunt Doris,” was born to the late James Frank McPhatter and Viola Townsend McPhatter. She was the fourth of five children. All of her siblings preceded her in death.
She attended school at Vineland Elementary School and Pinckney High School, where she graduated after completing one year of matriculation.
Mother Siler was saved at the age of twelve. She served faithfully at Love Grove AME Zion Church in West End, North Carolina. Mother Siler joined Prayer Praise Cathedral of Deliverance in 1989, where she served until health prevented her.
Mother Siler was married to William Eugene Siler for 57 years. To this union, five children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two of her eldest children, Lt. Col. Doris Leeks and William Andrew Siler.
She worked with the Moore County School system for 35 years in Food Service Management and Preparation. Mother Siler was active and served her community well through her various talents and skills.
Those left to cherish fond memories of Mother Siler are, two daughters, Marie S. Exum of Memphis, TN and Betty Aralia Siler of the home; a son, Joseph Anthony Siler (Julia Teresa), of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Angela (Breon), Nedra, Kevin (Jennifer), Byron (Monique), Torre (Jessica), Ian (Sha’Dava), Jaala, and Preston; nine great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Eva McDowell and Barbara McRae; one special nephew, Reverend Robert “Bobby” Hussey; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Onnie Gillespie (Roland); a cousin, Dr. Sonny Lloyd Townsend; and a host of other relatives and friends.
