Anna Frances (McMillian) Cockrum

Mrs. Anna Frances (McMillian) Cockrum, 71, of Lakeview, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at FirstHealth/Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Anna Frances Cockrum was born on September 2, 1952, in Lakeview, NC. She departed this life on September 28, 2023, at 71 years of age at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst,
North Carolina.

Anna Frances attended Pinckney High School and later graduated from Union Pines in 1971. Anna Frances worked several jobs throughout her lifetime, including Proctor Silex and Food Lion. Her unofficial claim to fame was being a Christian radio host for WEEB in Southern Pines, where she was affectionally known as the “Angel of the Airways.” Anna Frances became a Christian early in life and faithfully attended church and quartet singing programs until her health failed. She attended Crossroads Community Church, where she was a member until her death.

Anna Frances was the youngest child of Archie and Viola McMillan, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bernard Cockrum; her son, Jonathan Cockrum; and seven siblings, Earl (Zeke) McMillan, Sara Elizabeth Lucas, Mary Emma Rucker, Annie Helen Faulk, Walter Charles McMillan Jr., Howard McMillan Sr, and Archie McMillan.

Anna Frances leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Joe Bernard Cockrum II "Joe Joe", and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters in love, and friends.
