Alicia Gilchrist Obituary

Ms. Alicia Lynnette Gilchrist, fondly known as "Lissa", 43, of 1957 Lobelia Road, Vass, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

Alicia Lynnette Gilchrist was the daughter of Dianne Gilchrist and the late Warren Gilchrist. She was given her wings on August 4, 2021.

“Lissa,”as she was affectionately called, joined Johnsville AME Zion Church and later rejoined Fryes Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She had a beautiful voice for singing. Her favorite song was “Silver and Gold; I’d Rather Have Jesus Than Silver and Gold.” She always enjoyed time spent with family dinners or just plain old get-togethers. Her passion was taking care of the elderly, a love that she was doing up to the end. She had such a way of charming them and being an advocate for them.

One of “Lissa’s” most significant accomplishments was her three sons, Justin, Jalen, and Joshua. She would quickly tell you the time of day if she suspected something was not right with them. They, in return, love her unconditionally.

“Lissa” graduated from Union Pines High School in Cameron, North Carolina in 1996. She later attended Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina to obtain her CNA I and CNA II.

“Lissa” was preceded in death by a daughter, Destini Alexus Eberhart, her father, Warren Gilchrist, her paternal grandparents, Leonard and Erma Gilchrist, and her maternal grandparents, Henry and Odessa McLeod.

“Lissa” leaves to celebrate her homegoing and memories, her mother, Dianne Gilchrist, of the home; three sons, Justin Eberhart (Gabby), and Joshua Eberhart of the home, and Jalen Eberhart of Kannapolis, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Abriynna Eberhart; three sisters, Angie McLeod and Stephanie Hooker, both of Vass, North Carolina and LaFaye Ferguson (Tyrone) of Jacksonville, Florida; eight uncles, James McLeod, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Willie McLeod of Vass, North Carolina, Clarence McLeod of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Harold McLeod (Joyce) of Jacksonville, Florida, Harold W. Gilchrist of Cameron, North Carolina, Lewis C. Gilchrist, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ernest R. Gilchrist (Synetha), of Dunwoody, Georgia, and Herbert L. Gilchrist (Natalie) of Conyers, Georgia; seven aunts, Priscilla Hart of Cameron, North Carolina, Loretta G. Woodard of Detroit, Michigan, Clara G. Abron (John), of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Joyce G. Fointno of Seoul, South Korea, Valerie A. Gilchrist, of Durham, North Carolina, Sonja G. Lewis (William), of Decatur, Georgia, and Cheryl G. Gaddy (Romey), of Smithfield, North Carolina; three nephews, Eric, Kedrick, and Little Tyrone; a niece, Olivia; and a host of other relatives, family and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to McLeod Funeral Home of Sanford, North Carolina.
