Mr. Alfanzia "Al" Fordom, 79, of Southern Pines, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. 

Alfanzia Fordom, 79, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, entered eternal rest at the VA Medical Center in Durham, NC, on June 28, 2025.

Alfanzia “Al” was born on June 25, 1946, to the late Mae Ella and George Fordom in Miami, FL. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and attended Sandhills Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Blueprint Reading. He served nine years in the military and was honorably discharged as PFC, earning a National Defense Service Medal.  Al was a handyman who did repairs for so many in the area and was an avid fisherman. 

He leaves to mourn his adopted families, the Leslie, Tyson, and Armstrong families; stepdaughters, Donna Fields and Nina Kelly; goddaughter, Dwan Covington; and many friends.

The family will be hosting A Memorial Service for Mr. Alfanzia "Al" Fordom at 5pm on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Trinity Community Outreach Center, 972 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Southern Pines, NC 28387.
